The consultation for the draft job profiles for the landscape industry, amenity horticulture, sports turf, botanical and historic gardens is now closed.

Please consider the following information when reviewing the job profiles for the landscape industry:

  • The profiles cover the full range of skills needed not just the technical skills
  • Health and safety underpins all of the profiles with varying levels of responsibility
  • Customer care and retail skills have been considered for public facing organisations
  • Environmental management skills are now essential to ensure the sustainability of the industry and have been included
  • Multi-skilling has been considered as many businesses are micro-sized or operated by the self-employed
  • The profiles show current career, training and skills progression routes
  • Career progression into training and education has also been included.
PLEASE NOTE: Job profiles are under development for individuals with higher level, very specialist expertise such as environmental landscape architect, plant agronomist, ecologist, botanist etc. If you would like to contribute to the development of these job profiles please contact the project manager, Celine Evans.
